What we are aiming for

Our goal is a website that anyone can use comfortably, whatever device, browser or assistive technology they rely on. That includes people who use screen readers, people who navigate with a keyboard rather than a mouse, people who enlarge text or change colours, and people who simply find long or cluttered pages hard going. We try to keep wording plain, headings clear and pages uncluttered so that finding out about a damp survey and booking one is straightforward. Websites change over time, and some parts may not yet work as well as we would like for every visitor. Where something falls short, we would rather hear about it than leave it in place.

Telling us about a problem

If any part of this site is difficult to read, hard to move around, or does not work with the tools you use, please let us know through the enquiry form. It helps if you can describe the page you were on, what you were trying to do and what went wrong, along with the device or software you were using if you know it. You do not need technical knowledge to send a report; a short description in your own words is enough for us to look into it. We read every message and use what you tell us to decide what needs fixing.

Getting information another way

Should you find any content on this site hard to use in its current form, you can ask for it in a different format. Send your request through the enquiry form, say which information you need and explain the format that would work best for you, for example larger print, a plainer layout or a simpler written summary. We will do what we reasonably can to provide it. If your request concerns booking a damp survey, the details you give will be shared with the specialist who carries out the work, so they are aware of anything that would make the visit easier for you.
